Biography
Derek Chau is the CEO of Ratchet Technology LLC, a software company delivering mobile news solutions to professionals. Previously, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Accela overseeing the Professional Services and Product Development teams. Mr. Chau has a unique blend of operational, financial, strategic and legal expertise. He has served in a number of corporate development roles through his career and has been involved in over $2.0bn of private and public company acquisitions. Previously, Mr. Chau advised companies on acquisitions, financings and capital raises as part of the Private Equity group at Ropes & Gray LLP. Prior to that, Mr. Chau also worked as a management consultant and also as an investment banker. Mr. Chau holds a B.A. in economics, summa cum laude, from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He is also a CFA charterholder.
