Michael Cramer

Biography

Michael Cramer has over 20 years of experience consulting to industry and government including project managing environmental impact assessments and preparing management plans for major projects in the mining, oil and gas, energy, transport, industrial, water and waste sectors. He has worked in temperate and high-rainfall environments in Australia, Asia, Africa, the Pacific and Papua New Guinea. Michael also has expertise in preparing site rehabilitation and mine closure plans, including the preparation of fully-costed plans, and the preparation and auditing of financial assurance estimates and rehabilitation bonds. His experience includes undertaking environmental management and compliance audits and providing advice on sustainability, resource efficiency, carbon accounting and climate change adaptation. He is a Qualified Environmental Social and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA) Facilitator for Chevron Corporation and a member of the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) and the Australia Africa Chamber of Commerce (AACC). In 2012, Michael established Accent Environmental, a company that provides environmental and social impact assessment and management services and strategic advice to the mining, oil and gas, industrial, energy, water and waste sectors. Michael founded Accent after identifying a need for small to medium sized companies who were responsive to client concerns, forward-thinking and able to provide specialist environmental and social impact assessment services. He wanted to form a company that gave great service to clients while operating with the commitment, ethos and spirit that only a small to medium sized company could truly achieve. Accent Environmental is based in Melbourne, Australia, but is focused on servicing clients and projects throughout Australia, Asia, Africa and Papua New Guinea. Accent has affiliations with companies in southeast Asia and West Africa.
