Prof. Peter Gray

Biography

 Peter Gray is Director of the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Queensland, and Emeritus Professor of Biotechnology at the University of NSW. He has had commercial experience in the USA working for Eli Lilly and Co and Cetus Corporation and has held academic positions at University of College London and at the University of California, Berkeley. He has built up R&D capabilities in mammalian cell culture to be the leading group in Australia, with an extensive collaborative network of international research groups and corporations. Prof Gray serves on a number of Boards and is involved in a wide range of international biotechnology activities. He has served as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sub-Committee of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Australia and is one of the founders and a past President of the Australian Biotechnology Association, AusBiotech. Prof Gray is regularly involved as an expert witness in biotechnology patent cases and has extensive consulting experience.
