Biography
I hold a Master Degree in Clinical Psychology and have been practicing in the areas of clinical and forensic psychology since 1979. Over my career as a psychologist I have worked in a diverse range of settings. These setting have included three years in the former Department of Community Welfare, three years in a Community Health setting, and seven years as the Chief Clinical Psychologist at Regency Park Centre for the Young Disabled. From 1990 through till 2008 I taught full time at the University of South Australia in areas related to clinical psychology and counselling. Since leaving the University I have moved into full time private practice. At the University I specialised in teaching courses in the area of Psychological Assessment, Child Clinical Psychology and Crisis and Trauma Management. Over the years my research and practice interests have focused on assessment of Chronic Pain, Criminal Offender Subtypes, the Impact of Trauma and its management, Parent Education and applications of EEG Biofeedback. I have worked and taught in Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore in addition to Australia and so have had an exposure to cross cultural work and practice. I have practiced privately in the areas of clinical and forensic psychology since 1990. Amongst other professional memberships I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society, the APS College of Clinical Psychology and the APS College of Forensic Psychology. I have been a long term member of the Australian & New Zealand Association of Psychiatry, Psychology & Law.
