Biography
It is not only my mission to teach the subject matter of our field, but also to assist each student in developing a professional identity and personal ideology about human behavior and the nature of change. I encourage students to be collaborative in the learning process, and I strive to put knowledge in context so students understand the full impact of mental health issues in communities. I respect and incorporate students’ diverse perspectives and experiences. My role extends beyond the classroom and beyond graduation. Faculty members are mentors and role models, and we help students to develop the ethical and professional framework that will guide their future work. My areas of interest and expertise include supervision and clinical training, couple and family systems, work and mental health, parenting and transition to motherhood, and trauma.
