Biography
GRADY L. ABLES, 56, was named senior region vice president – North Sea Operations, HSSE and Global Technical Services on July 31, 2017. He was previously senior region vice president – North Sea and Canada since June 1, 2016; region vice president – Canada Region and president, Apache Canada since June 2015 and region vice president of the Central Region since July 2014. Ables served as general manager, Khalda Petroleum Company, Apache’s largest joint venture company in Egypt, since July 2013. He joined Apache in 2007 as drilling manager for Khalda Petroleum Company and was promoted to operations manager before being named general manager. He has nearly 30 years of industry experience in drilling and production operations, including 17 years of increasing responsibility at Total Fina Elf and its predecessor company, including assignments onshore North America as well as offshore and international. Ables holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University.
