Biography
TIMOTHY R. CUSTER, 57, was appointed senior vice president – North America Land, Government Affairs and Real Estate effective Jan. 1, 2016, having been vice president – North America Land, Government Affairs and Real Estate since June 1, 2015. He was previously vice president – Land since May 2014. Custer had been the Permian Region’s land and commercial manager since the region was established in 2010. He joined Apache as senior staff landman for the company’s former Western Region in 1996 and subsequently served as a manager and director in Business Development. Custer began his career as a landman with Amoco Production Company, working the Permian Basin, in 1985. He was promoted to gas buyer for Amoco’s natural gas liquids business unit in 1993 and took on the role of acquisitions and divestures transactions coordinator for Amoco in 1995. He holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum land management from the University of Texas at Austin.
