Biography
Prof Jerry Wales trained at Oxford University and spent most of his professional life running a large endocrinology & diabetes department in Sheffield, England. He has published many research articles and textbooks and has been chairman of the British Society for Paediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes.
Research Interest
He chaired the UK NICE review of Diabetes management from 2012-5. After a sabbatical in Adolescent Medicine at Melbourne for a year in 2002-3 he came back to Australia in 2014 having been recruited to run the new department at the LCCH with the merger of the Mater and Royal Brisbane Children’s Hospitals.
