Biography
Mr Smart has over 35 years experience in the resources sector with a specific focus on operating assets in Africa. His most recent executive role was with TSX-listed LionOre Mining, where he was responsible for strategy and corporate development until its acquisition by Norilsk Nickel. During his career he spent over two decades working for the Anglo American group, including Managing Director of Bindura Nickel and Zimbabwe Alloys, and as well as CEO and Chairman of Zimasco, one of Africa’s largest integrated ferrochrome mining and smelting businesses before its sale to SinoSteel Corporation. He has more recently served on a number of public company Boards.
