Biography
Dr Pigram is a geologist [BSc (Hons), PhD] and has over 40 years’ experience in a wide range of geological research and mapping. He has been a senior research manager since 1993 and has led Geoscience Australia’s marine & petroleum geoscience, minerals geoscience, and geospatial & earth monitoring programs. He was the Chief Executive Officer of GA from 2010-2017. Dr Pigram has worked in Southeast Asia and the West Pacific as well as extensively in Australia. He has wide experience in geoscience covering minerals, petroleum, basin analysis and marine geoscience with over 100 publications and is member of several professional geological societies. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Dr Pigram is a member of numerous advisory committees and working groups. In 2004 he participated in the APS Senior Leadership program – Leading Australia’s Future in Asia (LAFIA).
