Biography
Dr.Leanne Currey is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Ecological Monitoring. Her career includes 15+ years of experience focused on the biology and ecology of reef and inshore fishes. Much of my research has focused on tropical marine environments through a number of projects (honours, Qld Fisheries 2005 & 2015, JCU employment 2005-2011 & 2015), and her PhD research. Her PhD investigated a combination of innovative methods to better understand movement patterns of important fishes at multiple scales, and in relation to environmental conditions. She aims to conduct research that positively impacts the conservation and sustainability of marine ecosystems, with a specific interest in the environmental drivers of presence, movement and biology of marine individuals.
