Biography
Claire is a partner practising in Gilbert + Tobin's Energy + Resources group. Claire’s expertise spans all aspects of resources projects from acquisition, structuring, financing and implementation to the on-going development, operation and then divestment of projects. As well as negotiating and documenting transactions, Claire provides advice on regulatory compliance and approvals and land access matters. Claire has considerable multi-jurisdictional experience, having advised on projects in all states and territories of Australia as well as overseas in countries including Turkey, the Philippines, Fiji, Vanuatu, Pakistan and various African countries. Claire is active with the Resources and Energy Law Association and was involved in the development of the model production joint venture and the model framework royalty deed, as well as the model access agreement for Western Australia. Claire is also a member of the Mining Legislation Committee of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies. Claire was listed in the Australian Financial Review’s Best Lawyers list in 2017 for Energy Law, Mining Law and Natural Resources Law.
