Biography
Duncan is a partner in Gilbert + Tobin's Banking + Infrastructure group. His major areas of practice include debt capital markets, securitisation, structured finance, insolvency and restructuring, peer-to-peer lending, leveraged finance and general finance transactions. He has advised AET, ANZ, BNY Mellon, CBA, China Construction Bank, Credit Agricole, Goldman Sachs, IMB, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, JPMorgan, Lloyds Banking Group, MacDonald's Corporation, Municipal Association of Victoria, NAB, New South Wales Treasury, One Investment, Perpetual, Prosegur, Telstra, TPG, Treasury Corporation of Victoria and Westpac, amongst others. Duncan is consistently recognised as a leading lawyer by directories such as Chambers Global, Legal 500 and IFLR100. Who's Who Legal recently ranked Duncan as one of the world's leading Capital Markets Stuctured Finance lawyers. Prior to joining Gilbert + Tobin, Duncan was a Senior Associate in Banking and Finance with Allens Arthur Robinson in Sydney from 2004 to 2007 and with Allen & Overy in London from 2001 to 2004. He also worked at Goldman Sachs in London from 1996 to 2001. Duncan holds a BSc (Econ) and an LL.M from the London School of Economics and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and also in England and Wales.
