Research Interest
Exercise testing in cardiometabolic diseases (i.e. the mechanisms of exercise intolerance that affect daily physical functioning in people living with these diseases and how exercise testing may be used to predict future health outcomes). Cognitive function in cardiometabolic diseases (i.e. identifying which characteristics associated with disease increase the risk of cognitive decline in the future). Effects of physical activity / exercise on cardiac structure and function, vascular structure and function, the autonomic nervous system, and other aspects of cardiovascular physiology. Muscle blood flow (i.e. how it responds to stimuli such as sugar intake and exercise, and whether these responses are impacted in the early stages of cardiometabolic disease).
