Biography
Yow Keat is a final year PhD student affiliated to Monash University currently working in the Cardiac Hypertrophy Laboratory under the supervision of Associate Professor Julie McMullen. He previously worked as a research assistant under Julie for a number of years before pursuing his PhD. Yow Keat completed his honours degree in 2009, investigating the action of various transcription factors in the nicotine biosynthesis pathway in tobacco plants. His current PhD and research interest involves looking at changes to cardiac lipid profiles in both physiological and pathological cardiac hypertrophy.
