Biography
Garry is the Executive General Manager of Wilmar BioEthanol, Australia’s oldest ethanol producer with a history stretching back to 1901 when it was then part of CSR. Garry has been involved in the ethanol industry for over 15 years; he started life as a Research and Development Chemist before moving into various commercial roles, primarily in the Sales and Marketing areas before moving into his current position at Wilmar BioEthanol. Wilmar BioEthanol is part of the Wilmar Sugar business (formerly CSR Sugar) – a world scale sugar business with 8 Sugar Mills in North Queensland and 5 Sugar refineries spread across Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia. Wilmar BioEthanol has an ethanol distillery in Sarina, North Queensland, that makes 60ML/year of ethanol from molasses, as well as a distillery in Melbourne aimed primarily at servicing the higher grade industrial markets. Garry has a Degree in Chemistry and has completed the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.
