Biography
After receiving a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Deakin University in Melbourne, Ben travelled to Queensland to continue his postgraduate studies in Counselling at Bond University. Ben worked as an inpatient Drug and Alcohol Counsellor for a number of years. During this time he was responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of professionals providing holistic support and treatment for individuals affected by substance dependency issues and the implementation of best-practice policy management. He has taken on a number of different roles within this field including assessment, advocacy and brief-intervention. He has also worked as a consultant for South-East Queensland�s Drug Diversionary Programs within the Southport Magistrates Court. Ben teaches a number of counselling and behaviour management subjects but enjoys teaching in the area of psychiatric disorder as he has a passion for investigating evidence-based, behavioural techniques for client groups with high treatment needs. His teaching philosophy is student-focused and aimed at preparing graduates to become exceptional clinicians.
