Biography
A member of the Harvard Business Review Advisory Council. The winner of a national Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation for outstanding contribution to student learning, he has developed innovative teaching techniques to help students overcome their glossophobia and so become more confident, competent communicators. He has delivered papers at international conferences and written articles on his research. His approach has been published in the Harvard Business Review. He has lectured in Australia and overseas � from the University of Cambridge, London School of Economics Beijing's Tsinghua University and the Royal University of Bhutan, to the Hwange Main Camp Bush School and the Vanavevhu � Children of the Soil community group of orphans who are raising their younger siblings, in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe � teaching both teachers and students how to improve their oral presentation skills. Originally from Vancouver, he graduated in 1963 from University of B.C. with a B.A. and in 1964 from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, New York, with an M.Sc. (high honours). He has won several awards for his syndicated column on personal financial advice which has appeared weekly in newspapers across Canada since 1973. He also writes travel articles for papers and magazines in Australia, North America, Europe and Africa. The author of 11 books, he moved to Australia in 1998 to take up a teaching position in communication skills at Bond University. Qualifications
