Biography
Jan Jervis is a Senior Teaching Fellow of Multimedia Design. After an early career in fashion and textile design that included 5 fashion design awards, Jan transferred her design skills to the digital field and completed a Master of Multimedia Degree through Bond University. She joined the staff of Bond University in 2001 and over time has received two Excellence in Teaching Awards. Teaching areas include print and Website design, 2D and 3D animation, with a particular focus on design principles, colour theory, typography, history of design, illustration and graphic Website design. Jan is currently pursuing research into the cross-discipline importance of design, design thinking and digital design literacy (a Tri-Unity of Design). The research calls for a cohesive language about the Tri-Unity of design, in the form of a benchmark or index, in which all participants, the 21st Century employer and graduate of Higher Education, have shared meaning.
