Biography
Born and raised in Queensland and a social worker by training, Christine has enjoyed a diverse career in human services for almost four decades in Queensland, Victoria and the ACT. Christine has worked in social work education, local government, the not for profit sector and a range of government agencies. She has also worked as a sole operator consultant and has spent a year volunteering in Thailand at an orphanage for children with HIV/AIDS. She is passionate about the wellbeing of women, children and young people. Christine has 20 years’ experience as an executive managing policy and program development, service delivery and service purchasing and funding. In 1997, Christine was awarded Telstra Queensland Business Woman for Government and Community Services in recognition of her work to address domestic violence and her contribution as the first female executive and inaugural Director of Community Services at Logan City Council. Prior to joining BCNA, Christine was the Executive Director, Office for Children, Youth and Family Support for the ACT Government, responsible for child protection, youth justice and family support. In this capacity she delivered extensive reform and service improvements in child protection and youth justice service delivery. Christine has held the position of CEO at BCNA since February 2015.
