Biography
Iain Samson is currently a Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Windsor. He obtained B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Strathclyde and then spent three years as a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University. His research interests are focussed on the geochemistry of hydrothermal systems and the genesis of mineral deposits. He has served as Head of Department, on the NSERC solid earth science grant selection committee, and as Finance Chair and President of the Mineralogical Association of Canada, the latter from 2010 until 2012.
