Biography
Brigid is a cancer epidemiologist whose research focuses on how physical activity and sedentary behaviour are associated with cancer risk, biological mechanisms underlying risk, and health outcomes for cancer survivors. Brigid received her PhD in Population Health from The University of Queensland in 2008, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer epidemiology in Calgary (Alberta, Canada), from 2009 – 2011. She commenced with Cancer Council Victoria in August 2014, and has honorary appointments with the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, The University of Melbourne, and the Physical Activity Laboratory, Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute. Brigid’s work is supported by a National Breast Cancer Foundation Early Career Fellowship (2015 – 2018).
