Biography
Dr Karuna Shrestha has received her PhD in Central Queensland University during the period of 2007-2011. Currently, she is working as a senior research officer in Central Queensland University assessing the environmental health of waters in the Fitzroy River system as part of the BMA Aqua-Eco Health Project. Her research has included microbial ecology assessing the environmental health of waters and sediments in the Fitzroy River system as part of the BMA Aqua-Eco Health Project Based on this research and fellowship training she has received several awards and honors, such as Soil Science Australia (SSA) Postgraduate Award for Excellence in Soil Science (2012). She is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like the Journal of Bioremediation and Biodegradation. She has authored 5 research articles, 3 of which were published in high quality refereed international journal “Bioresource Technology” (ERA rating A), 3 conference papers and 1 conference proceeding. She is a member of Soil Science Australia.
