Biography

Georgie has over 20 years’ experience in early childhood education, applied research as well as policy development and delivery of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment projects including professional development for teachers, particularly in the Northern Territory. She has successfully managed and led major early childhood education and care projects for the Northern Territory Government and Menzies School of Health Research including analyses of national and international evidence based interventions across health, child protection, community development and education disciplines to support a compelling change agenda. From August 2007 to December 2012, Georgie was seconded to Menzies to facilitate a more productive relationship between health research and the education policy and program delivery sectors. This period included a breadth and depth of research and consultancy experiences such as: secondment to the Australian Government in 2008 for the Indigenous Early Childhood Reform Taskforce Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters evaluation, system level Indigenous Education reform evaluation a three year evaluation of a community sector early childhood intervention.
