Biography

Dr Susan Bandias is a Senior Lecturer in the Business School. She has extensive experience in the education sector having taught across all levels of the education spectrum including primary, secondary, vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This experience has enabled her to work successfully in complex learning environments; to successfully lead and manage academic and administrative staff and to coordinate educational programs at the discipline and course level. Susan is an active contributor to the CDU community and is currently the Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing and Management Discipline Leader, Chair of the Business School Research and Research Training Committee and Deputy Associate Dean of the Faculty Research and Research Training Committee. Susan has taken a leading role in community engagement and successfully combines her professional interest in the social implications of information communication technology by actively engaging with the professions, the local and national community. She has been a member of the NT Branch Executive of the Australian Computer Society (ACS) for over 15 years. She was also Director of the national ACS Women's Board for two terms, served on the National Telecommunications Board for two years and is a member of the ACS Congress - the peak decision-making body of the ICT sector, for four years. Her contribution to the profession, public policy, research and the broader community was recently reconnised with an "Exceptional Service Award" by the ACS.

Social media, Indigenous use of ICT, Pathways for Indigenous students, Gender issues, and Dual sector institutions.
