Biography
Alexandra Jones graduated from the University of Sydney in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science(Dental) (Hons 1) and in 1991 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Hons1). Her PhD was awarded in 1998 in the field of Oral Pathology, in the area of tumour suppressor gene function and oral tumourigenesis. Alexandra is a restorative dentist with 25 years experience, which includes ongoing practice ownership. Training includes fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in restorative dentistry and many years postdoctoral research experience as a molecular biologist in tumour immunobiology, at the Skin and Cancer Research Institute and Melanoma Unit, RPAH, Sydney. Alex is a member of the Australian Dental Association and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
