Biography
I was raised in Wollongong, NSW. I completed a Bachelor of Nursing at University of Wollongong. After completing my Bachelor of Nursing I worked in forensic mental health in Victoria. While working I completed a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health through Monash University. I enrolled in a Masters of Midwifery through University of Wollongong and The Wollongong Hospital to complete my midwifery training. On completion of my midwifery, I worked for some time at the Wollongong Hospital before moving to the Central West working as a Midwife/Nurse at the Orange Hospital for over 1 year. I decided to move to Central Australia where I commenced working as a Nurse/Midwife at Alice Springs Hospital, I had quickly developed a passion for Indigenous Health and accepted a secondment to work as a Remote Area Midwife/Nurse in Arnhem Land. After my secondment was completed, I gained a permanent position as a Remote Area Midwife/Nurse in central Australia where I undertook further education in Women's Health, Remote Practice and Ultrasound. In Mid 2014 I moved to Wagga Wagga after gaining full time employment as Nurse/Midwife. In 2015 I started casual teaching at the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Indigenous Health at CSU.
