Biography
A/Prof Andrew Flatau graduated from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours and the University Medal in both Dentistry (1982) and Arts (1988), and was awarded his PhD in 2001 for a thesis entitled 'The anatomy of the infratemporal fossa: dissections and historical representations'. Before commencing his 0.5FTE appointment at CSU in 2011, he had a long academic association with the University of Sydney, where he was involved in the teaching of Prosthodontics, Restorative Dentistry, Anatomy and Histology. In 1988 he also taught Dental Anatomy and Oral Physiology and supervised the Oro-facial Pain Clinic at the University of Iceland. His publications include textbook chapters on the anatomy of the temporomandibular joint and the salivary glands. He is currently the Division Lead of Prosthodontics, Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics in the School of Dentistry & Health Sciences at CSU, but continues to work part-time in private dental practice.
Research Interest
clinical and descriptive anatomy as well as dental and anatomical education.
