Biography
Dr Moreland completed her PhD, titled 'Improving neural function in older adults through targeted exercise' through Deakin University in Melbourne in 2017. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science (Honours, First Class – 'Motor cortex excitability following short-term whole body vibration strength training) in 2011, and Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science/Bachelor of Commerce (Sport Management) in 2010. Ashleigh has had several roles within the Sport/Health Industry, including coaching BMX athletes at a State, National and International level, working as a Sport Scientist at the Geelong Cats AFL Club, conducting employee Health Assessments for large Corporations, and taking on the role of Project Development Officer with Sport and Recreation Victoria to facilitate a BMX in Schools Program.
Research Interest
exercise induced neuroplasticity in young and older adults, across a variety of interventions and contexts.
