Biography
Bryan graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1971, completed an internship at the University of Guelph (1972-73) and a surgical residency and period of teaching at Washington State University (1974-77) before taking up the position of Lecturer, then Senior Lecturer in Equine Medicine and Surgery at the new Veterinary School at Murdoch University in 1977. In 1984 Bryan was appointed as Professor of Large Animal Surgery at the University of Minnesota and, in 1987, commenced his own equine surgical referral practice in Belmont, WA which he operated until 2004, punctuated by visiting stints at Oregon State University in 2000, 2001 and 2005. Bryan has also worked as an equine surgeon at the University College Dublin, private practice in Rottenbach, Germany and the Singapore Turf Club.
