Charrissa Chew-moriarty

Biography

Commencing with CSU in 2017, Charrissa served as a police officer with the Queensland Police Service for 9 years. Graduating with Distinction with a Master of Arts - Counter Terrorism, Security & Policing in 2015, Bachelor of Arts - Psychology in 1996, Diploma of Policing in 2001 and Diploma of Government in 2013. Charrissa has over 15 years' experience in state jurisdictional areas as well as the private sector, with her engagements focusing on national security, law, counter violent extremism, counter terrorism, emergency management and corporate financial governance. Charrissa was the first Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Countering Violent Extremism Coordinator (CVE) and was responsible for the commencement, development and implementation of the ACT's CVE Intervention Program and Advisory Committee. Charrissa has represented and was a senior advisor for the ACT for counter terrorism and emergency management matters to the Council of Australian Governments Group (COAG) and COAG Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) during the escalation of terror alerts from 2014 - 2016. At the School of Policing, Charrissa has been lecturing in all facets of the ADPP course.
