Biography
Dr Clarissa Hughes is a health sociologist with over thirteen years' research and teaching experience. Across her career she has authored/co-authored nearly 50 publications, secured over $700K in research funding, and presented in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. She has successfully supervised five PhD projects relating to cancer care, rural health, consumer participation, health policy, and child protection. She particularly enjoys assisting candidates to find 'their voice' and hone their ability to write about complex ideas and processes in a clear, yet highly engaging and readable way.Clarissa's recent teaching responsibilities include coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate subjects in nursing, paramedicine and health sciences, and she is involved in the Health Masters program at CSU. She has a great interest in creating engaging, work-relevant online learning experiences for busy health practitioners, and assisting practitioners, organisations and communities develop solutions to the challenges they face.
