Biography
Louise graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology. On arrival in Australia she commenced work at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney and worked for many years in the HIV neurological research group under the guidance of Professor Bruce Brew. Their particular interest was in the pathogenesis of HIV associated dementia. Louise's PhD at St. Vincent’s Hospital investigated the molecular mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of HIV associated dementia. This research has been recognised on an international level and much of the work has been presented at international HIV conferences. Louise moved to Albury in 2011 with a keen interest in teaching and has been employed by Charles Sturt University since.
