Biography
Ali completed a DVM degree at Tehran University and worked in a mixed veterinary practice for five years before completion of his PhD at James Cook University in the field of Microbiology (virology). After one year of post-doctoral research at JCU, he worked as an Assistant and Associate Prof. at National Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for 10 years mainly involved in research also coordinated and taught into Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering subjects. During this time Ali was involved in a number of research projects including molecular virology, gene cloning and protein expression in prokaryote and eukaryotic cells. Then he worked as a research fellow at the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences at Melbourne University for four years on development of molecular diagnostic tests and genotyping of poultry pathogens particularly avian Mycoplasmas.
