Biography
Emma graduated from Murdoch University in 1998 and worked in mixed practice in both Australia and the United Kingdom for 7 years. In 2005 she completed her Masters in Veterinary Studies in small animal medicine and surgery. This was followed by pathology training at the University of Queensland. Emma has worked as a pathologist at the University of Melbourne, Gribbles, ACE Laboratories and Idexx. She is a Member of the pathobiology chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and has been a Membership examiner for this chapter since 2012. Her PhD explores the innate immunity of mice to Hendra virus infection as a collaboration between the Monash Institute of Medical Research and the CSIRO Australian Animal Health Laboratory.
Research Interest
Emma is interested the development of new diagnostic assays, and the validation and application of existing human diagnostic assays to expand those currently available to the Australian veterinary industry.
