Gavin Ramsay

Biography

Dr Ramsay, a graduate of the University of Sydney and University of Queensland, has wide ranging experience in the development and application of transdisciplinary approaches. He has worked as a senior policy officer in international organisations, including the Secretariat of the Pacific Community and FAO as well as government departments in Queensland, Western Australia, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. Before joining Charles Sturt University, Dr Ramsay was Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Group and Associate Head of the School of Natural Sciences at the University of Western Sydney and was leader and team member of systems based projects in Pacific island countries, the Philippines, Indonesia and India. He has played a major role in curriculum development in South Africa and India and has expertise in knowledge systems for decision making at farmer and policy levels and the relationship between production and food security.
