Biography
James is an Aboriginal (Kaurna) man from Adelaide S.A. He completed a Bachelor and Masters of Podiatry and the University of S.A. and has been working and living in Newcastle, NSW for the past five years, and recently moved to Albury. His passion is Aboriginal foot health, and he has worked as a podiatrist in many Aboriginal communities around Australia, in urban, rural and remote areas. He has recently been conducting Aboriginal foot health research in Sydney, Newcastle and Forster, investigating a wide range of variables that have an impact on Aboriginal foot health e.g. diabetes, smoking and obesity but focused on foot structure and function. James has recently commenced a position as lecturer and researcher in Podiatry for the School of Community Health. Course content areas that James will be covering include podiatric surgery and pharmacology, mental health, neurological and vascular medicine, and contemporary issues in podiatry. He will also be continuing his research in Aboriginal foot health.
