Biography
I was raised in the small country town of Leeton. On completing the HSC I studied a Bachelor of Nursing Degree at Sydney University. I was one of the first Registered Nurses to graduate with a Bachelor of Nursing Degree. I gained most of my clinical experience at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital NSW. It is here I became a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the General Adult Intensive Care Unit. I completed a Master of Nursing Degree (crit.care) at Sydney University. My research project was Evidence Base Practice - changing clinical protocol to reflect the evidence. I then became the project officer for the implementation and installation of a clinical information system in the general intensive care unit, RPA. Continuing my interest in adult critical care I accepted the position of Data Base Manager for an international Adult Intensive Care Patient database. After relocating to Orange I worked on a casual basis for the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Indigenous Health Bathurst before accepting a full time position as Lecturer in Nursing at Orange campus.
