Biography
Dr Li-minn Ang (Kenneth) received his PhD and Bachelor of Engineering with First Class Honours degrees from the School of Engineering, Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. He has also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) from the University of Nottingham. Before joining Charles Sturt University in August 2015, he was previously employed at Edith Cowan University, and the Malaysian campuses for Monash University and Nottingham University. At Nottingham, he was an associate professor and also held roles as the Head of Electronics and Communications Research Division, Head of Admissions, Master of Science (MSc) Coordinator and Computer Strand Leader. His research strengths include computer, communications and systems engineering with particular emphasis on image/visual processing and machine learning, wireless sensor/communication networks and security systems, reconfigurable/parallel computing, software and hardware architectures/methodology and the development of real-world computer systems with publications including two books and over a hundred papers in journals, book chapters and conference proceedings in these areas. His current research interests are towards multimodal audio-visual and big data analytics, multimedia Internet-of-Things (IoT) and wireless multimedia sensor systems, network system security and innovative technologies for agriculture and viticulture.
