Biography
Dr Marcus Smith is Senior Lecturer in Law at the Centre for Law and Justice, Charles Sturt University, and Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Canberra. Marcus holds bachelor degrees in arts, science and law and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the ANU College of Law; a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) from Trinity Hall, Cambridge; and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the ANU College of Law. Marcus has significant legal research experience at Australian Government agencies and the Australian Parliament. Before commencing his current role, he was Principal Research Officer to the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee, Principal Research Analyst at the Australian Institute of Criminology, and Research Officer at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. He previously lectured and tutored in law and criminal justice subjects at the University of Canberra.
