Biography
Ãngel graduated from the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) in 2010, where he also gained a Master by Research (2011) and a PhD (2015). He combined these studies with a residency of the European College of Bovine Health Management (ECBHM) between Spain and the Clinic for Ruminants of the University of Munich in Germany. During this training he had also the opportunity of gaining research and clinical experience in other countries and dairy production systems, such as the USA and Wales. Ãngel also completed postgraduate studies in Veterinary Education by distance learning at the Royal Veterinary College (UK), being recognised as Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2013. Ãngel moved to Australia in July 2015 to join the Production Animal group of the School of Animal and Veterinary Science at Charles Sturt University as Lecturer in Ruminant Health and Production.
Research Interest
Metabolic adaptations of dairy cows to the transition period, especially negative energy balance, inflammatory response and oxidative status.
