Biography
Nualnong graduated Bachelor degree of Nursing from Thailand and worked in Thai Red Cross Hospital as a Nurse at least 6 years, then employed in a scientist position in Snake Farm Laboratory for 3 years after completing Master degree of Science (Physiology). She started the first Ph.D from College of Public Health Science (Health Development System) in Thailand. After graduating, she worked with several international organisations, including World Bank, UN and TUC (Thailand-Ministry of Public Health- US-CDC) where projects were related to HIV/AIDS and reproductive health. Lastly, she undertook a postdoctoral fellow at International for Research on Cancer, WHO, France. Dr Wongtonkam started the second PhD right away in Discipline of Public Health at Flinders University, South Australia after finishing the postdoctoral fellowship in France. The PhD's research was associated with youth violence in Thailand and, and implemented interventions (Aggressive Replacement Training, Mindfulness Meditation) in order to reduce violence and negative emotions (anger and depression). Additionally, a mixed method (qualitative and quantitative) was utilised.
