Biography
Dr Paul Weston hails from New York State and obtained a BSc in Biology from Cornell. He made a brief diversion into engineering during his MSc program, learning how to write computer models along the way, and then got back onto the biological track, completing a PhD in Entomology from Michigan State University (with a minor in analytical chemistry). Paul has used his various research skills to study interactions between insects and their host plants in a variety of commodity areas (vegetables, stored grains, and woody plants) in a variety of locations (Michigan, Kentucky and New York State). In his various positions in the US, Paul was responsible for conducting research and teaching undergraduate and post-graduate students in his specialty areas as well as developing extension programs for agricultural practitioners. In 2008, Paul made the big move to Australia with his family and is currently a lecturer and part-time researcher in the School of Agricultural and Wine Sciences on the Wagga campus.
