Pete Millett

Biography

Pete lectures in Organisational Behaviour, Management, and Human Resource Management in the School of Management and Marketing in Wagga. He has previously lectured sessionally at the Australian Catholic University, as well as having been a sessional tutor at the Australian National University. Pete has also worked in the corporate sector as a Human Resource Manager and Director for around 15 years, mostly in Asia, where previous employers included General Electric (GE) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). He spent several years working in his second language of Japanese. Pete's areas of HR specialisation are talent acquisition and professional development. He holds a Bachelor of Education (Secondary Teaching) from Deakin University; Graduate Certificates in University Leadership and Management and also in Learning and Teaching for Higher Education from Charles Sturt University; and a Masters of Science (with Merit) in Global Human Resource Management from the University of Liverpool in the UK. His teaching approach is to focus as much as possible on interaction and discussion with students, and on the practical applications for the topics under study. Pete has presented at several conferences and workshops including CSU Admin Focus, the CSU Middle Managers Conference, CSU Ed, and for the Association of Tertiary Education Management at UTS in Sydney.

Pete's research interests span the areas of equity, ethics and social justice within a human resource management and/or organisational context focused on the Asia Pacific region
