Biography
I completed a B Arts (Psychology)(Hons) at the University of Newcastle. As part of my undergraduate program, I completed a Research Thesis with Professor Philip Hazel on the effects of contagion on Adolescent Suicide. Since completing my degree I have worked in Community Mental Health, specialising in Adolescent Mental Health, in Child and Family Counselling as well as running my own Private Practice whilst undertaking contract work in rehabilitation. I have also worked as a teacher for TAFE, teaching Community Services, counselling and Youth work. More recently I worked in the Occupational Psychology field as a Business Partner at TAFE advising and coaching managers on how to effectively manage staff with performance and conduct issues, as well as supporting them in workforce planning. I began teaching Child and Adolescent Psychology for Charles Sturt University in Port Macquarie in July 2012 and now am coordinating Foundations of Psychology for Health and Human Services and Child and Adolescent Psychology. I am a registered Psychologist and member of the Australian Psychological Society.
