Biography
Scott's background is in agriculture (including mixed cereal/livestock farming) and natural resource management. His professional career path includes: agronomic research (oilseeds/irrigation management); social research (extension/adoption/market analysis); chief executive roles with NRM organisations and irrigator councils (NSW and Victoria); a senior executive role in private agribusiness; and, as a private consultant, providing adjustment support to SMEs and consulting to a national fast food chain and national supermarket chain toward improving production standards amongst fresh food suppliers. Scott commenced at CSU in 2005 teaching agricultural extension and systems. From 2006-14 he was involved with the Future Farm Industries CRC, initially leading the Education and Training program including overseeing the professional development of 67 PhD students across four Australian universities. In 2009 this position became a secondment to FFICRC as Agribusiness Director, an executive role with responsibilities for overseeing the 'path to industry use' of the CRC's 34 project level investments and leading its RD&E impact analysis portfolio across $45M worth of on-ground agricultural RD&E.
