Stephen Muller

Biography

Stephen is an expert in transnational training, capacity building, customs and border management modernization and integrity with over 25 years of experience. He is the off-shore academic program manager for CCES courses. In February 2012, Stephen was awarded the Australian Alumni Excellence Award for Education award, at the Australian Trade Commission's Annual Australian Alumni Excellence Awards in Colombo, Sri Lanka in recognition of his outstanding services to promote Australian Education outside Australia. In 2010, Stephen was awarded the UC Vice Chancellor's Award in recognition of 100% student satisfaction in teaching postgraduate students. In the international arena, Stephen has conducted training for the World Customs Organization and international agencies such as the World Bank (WB), International Monetary Fund (IMF), Asian Development Bank (ADB). He has also worked as the Customs Adviser for customs reform and modernization projects in Bangladesh, Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and the Republic of Palau. He has undertaken short term assignments in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Kiribati and PNG. Under the aegis of the International Monetary Fund, he implemented PC/Trade (an automated clearance tool for small island countries) in FSM and Palau. In the Asia-Pacific, Stephen has earned a reputation as an expert in capacity building, training and customs – border management reform and modernization. In addition, he has conducted training courses in India, Malaysia, Jordan, Maldives and East Timor.
