Biography
Steve Clarke is an Associate Professor in the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics, Charles Sturt University and a Senior Research Associate in the Uehiro Centre for Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford. He is the author of over sixty papers in refereed journals and edited collections, as well as two books, including The Justification of Religious Violence, Malden MA, Wiley-Blackwell, 2014. He is also a co-editor of four books. The most recent of these is Clarke, S., Savulescu, J., Coady, C. A. J., Giubilini, A. and Sanyal, S. (eds.)The Ethics of Human Enhancement: Understanding the Debate, Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2016. He is currently a Chief Investigator on two Australian Research Council Discovery Grants: 'Moral Conservatism, Human Enhancement and the "Affective Revolution" in Moral Psychology' (2013-16), with Julian Savulescu and C. A. J. Coady, and 'Conscience and Conscientious Objection in Health Care' (2015-17), with Jeanette Kennett and Julian Savulescu.
