Biography
Therese completed a Bachelor of Arts in 1988, a Bachelor of Social Work in 1996 and a Master in Child and Adolescent Welfare in 2012. Her experience has largely been in rural New South Wales in a range of government and non-government services. Her last practice position was as a social worker at Centrelink, and prior to this she worked for NSW Health in aged care, primary health care, aged care and brain injury rehabilitation. In the non-government sector, Therese was a community worker for people with disabilities and a counsellor in women's health. She has been involved in the non-government sector as a board member and has also taught casually at a number of tertiary institutions. Therese enjoys living in regional NSW with her family. She has chosen to move into teaching at Charles Sturt University to share her practice experiences with students and to develop the theoretical knowledge she has around practice. She has been employed with the university since December 2011 and has been the Field Education Coordinator for approximately twelve months.
