Biography
Vien Chu is a lecturer at CSU in the School of Accountancy and Finance, teaching in the Master of Professional Accounting. Prior to joining academia, Vien worked for eight years as an accounting manager, a financial and general manager for international private sector companies in Vietnam. Vien completed two research studies: Masters in 2010 and PhD in 2015. While the Masters study examined NGOs' approaches to sustainable poverty alleviation through long-term effective programs in Vietnam, the PhD study investigated NGO accountability practices in Bangladesh and Indonesia. The work from the two studies has been published in journals, a book chapter, and conference papers. Vien's research interests include third sector accountability, reporting and disclosure, social enterprises and micro-enterprise development, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Internal control systems and cloud computing.
